RST – a European engineering office with global expertise

  • 1992 foundation of the RST Raumfahrt Systemtechnik GmbH through Prof. Dr. Hans-Martin Braun
  • 1994 first radar technology order by the European Space Agency ESA
  • 1996 realisation of a "Stepped Frequency Radars" for planetary operation
  • 1998 member of the Technology Transfer Programme of the ESA (European Space Agency)
  • 1999 design of SAR sensors for small satellites and initiator of the "SAR-Lupe" idea
  • 2000 SUSI measurement campaigns in Canada, Buthan and the United Arab Emirates
  • 2002 start of the "SAR-Lupe" realisation phase
  • 2006-2008 sucessful starts of 5 SAR-Lupe satellites in Plessezk, Russia
  • 2008 RST becomes part of the OHB Technology AG Bremen, Europe's third biggest technology and aerospace group
  • 2009 successful crack detection with PRIS
  • 2009 re-naming in  RST Radar Systemtechnik GmbH
  • 2010 company moves to new building in Salem/Germany
  • 2010 launch of small series production
  • 2012 commissioning of the first RST aircraft SAR
  • 2015 first successful tests with WSMS-S
  • 2017 Dr. Michael Schmitt is the new CEO of the RST GmbH
